Yahoo! has donated its Traffic Server software to the Apache Software Foundation as open source. Traffic Server is a high performance HTTP/1.1 caching proxy server Yahoo has used internally since acquiring its original developers, Inktomi, in 2002.

It's a shiny new decade for the organization behind the popular open source Web server. In 10 years the non-profit foundation has grown from its initial project, HTTP Web Server, to more than 60 projects.
